Jessie James enjoyed a modest amount of success and Wanted could make it to the Top 40 on the Singles Charts. Decker was always considered known as a "country" musician, however this album was produced and promoted in a way that appeals to the pop market. Decker fought with the label to gain greater control over her music after two of her singles fell. Her subsequent album, Boys in the Summer is more country-oriented. Decker's second studio album was released with the name Daughter of a Gypsy, or Sweet American Dreams. Mercury had it shelved and three of Decker's country singles performed poorly. Her album was eventually released.
